Direct Mail Tips – How To Get The Envelope Opened

I like using direct mail because it’s one of those time tested methods of successfully selling your products and services. There are so many different ways of using direct mail that you should be able to take advantage of. And when doing direct mail, it’s important that you follow the proven routes of others, instead of re-inventing the wheel.

In today’s lesson, I want to share with you a few some direct mail concepts that just might blow your mind. I’m confident that you have never heard of this stuff before – and it’s probably why you’re currently having a tough time marketing your business. You see if you’ve come from business lessons in college, they go over brand advertising and show you ways to build your brand in the marketplace.

But if you only had $20 to your name and needed $500 to come up with the rent, there’s no way that “brand advertising” will help you. There’s something called “direct response marketing” that you should get acquired to, and will help you to generate response NOW (right away!) instead of later.

This applies to your direct mail marketing efforts also. You don’t have to wait weeks or months to see sales. If your direct mail is on point and you’re doing direct response marketing, then you should be able to see results almost immediately. In fact, let’s take a look at some direct mail marketing tips that you can use to have success in your business today.

1) Use a stamp

Nothing creams “bulk mail” than an envelope with a big white label on it. This may make your customers think that it’s offline spam and they won’t want to open up your envelope to see what’s inside. So instead of using a label, consider using a stamp that will get your prospects to feel like it’s personal mail, and it will make them feel special because they feel like you went through all the trouble of putting a stamp on it.

This is a very effective strategy. Here’s another one:

2) Use a blue ink pen

This is another way to take the customization tactic to a different level. People want to feel special, and by handwriting their name and address on the envelope, they will think that it’s a friend contacting them instead of your business – thus giving you a higher open rate – thus leading to more conversions and sales on your behalf.

Here’s the last tip for direct mail success:

3) Consider teaser copy

Teaser copy is nothing but words on the front and bank of your envelope that is geared towards convincing the intended recipient to open your letter. Does this really work? Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t. However most people who are using teaser copy seem to have a great deal of success with them, because they’re continuing to mail out these letters to their intended recipient.

All 3 of these strategies for effective direct mail marketing can really help to boost your sales and profits.

Good luck with using these tips to make more money in your business today.
