MANILA, Philippines — It is clear why the camp of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos is afraid of Vice President Leni Robredo as she defeated him thrice, Office of Vice President Spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said on Sunday.
“Talo sa 2016 election, talo sa recount, talo ang protesta. Para sa isang tatlong beses nang talunan andami pa ring sinasabi,” Gutierrez said on Twitter.
(He lost the 2016 election, the recount, and electoral protest. For someone who lost thrice, he has so much to say.)
“Malinaw na naman kung bakit takot na takot sila kay Leni Robredo; kung tatlong beses ka nga namang tinalo, aatrasan mo na rin diba?” he added.

Gutierrez’s statement is in response to a news outlet’s photo, quoting Marcos’ spokesperson Vic Rodriguez.
Rodriguez on One PH’s Sa Totoo Lang on Friday said that a one-on-one in the 2022 election scenario will never happen after Robredo said that she is willing to face Marcos if selected as the united opposition’s bet.
Rodriguez added that a one-on-one scenario is “useless” and “pointless.”
On Sunday morning, Robredo said that she will continue to pursue unification plans against the administration and Marcos.
