Over 15,000 jobs up for grabs in Ilocos on Labor Day

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—At least 15,000 jobs, local and overseas, are up for grabs in the Ilocos region on Labor Day (May 1), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced Saturday.

Among these local offerings include 14,623 vacancies for customer service representatives, production operators, collections specialists, retail or sales agents, sales representatives, and service crews.

DOLE added that 481 vacancies are open for overseas jobs that include factory workers, painters, frame workers, welders, plastic molders, machine and production operators, sales personnel, computer programmers, and graphic designers.

The job fairs on May 1 would be held in three different locations in the region, namely, MMX Center, Magic Mall in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan; Tagudin Farmers Civic Center in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur; and Robinsons Mall activity area in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

The DOLE advised job seekers who would join the job fairs to observe standard health protocols.

In Ilocos Norte, the biggest public hospital in the province, the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center are also joining the job fair at Robinsons Mall.

Over 900 positions are also available in the hospital which include medical specialists and officers, nurses, chemists, speech therapists, respiratory therapists, radiologic technologists, ward assistants, laboratory aides, health promotion officers, occupational therapists, medical technologists, social welfare officers, midwives, nursing attendants, dental hygienists, statisticians, nutritionist-dietetics, and administrative officers.
